About Us

Welcome to Stella Bella.

Stella Bella was created by Paramedical Makeup Artist and Cancer Survivor, Kristin Provvidenti. With over 22 years of experience, Kristin saw a need for women like herself, struggling with the devastating effects of chemotherapy and the effects it has on the skin.

Certified in Cosmetic Ingredients, Paramedical Makeup and certified with the American Cancer Society's "Look Good, Feel Better" program, Kristin's Stella Bella skincare and pure mineral cosmetics were formulated with these women in mind.

The product line boasts the infusion of pharmaceutical grade ingredients with natural botanical extracts. No mineral oils, petrolatums, irritants or chemical dyes are used in making any of the products.

While they were developed for those with even the most sensitive skin types, all women can benefit from these effective yet skin loving products. Kristin is highly recognized in her field and has literally helped tens of thousands of women look and feel better about their skincare and makeup regimes. Her products have received awards and have been highlighted in several publications. Her no nonsense approach to skincare and makeup has made Stella Bella a hit with women everywhere. As a single mother, Kristin understands the challenges women face and the various hats they wear daily so ease of application and affordability were at the forefront of her mind when developing her products.

Ingredients We Don't Use:

Mineral Oils: A Petroleum by-product that coats the skin like plastic, clogging the pores. Interferes with skin's ability to eliminate toxins, promoting acne and other disorders. Any mineral oil derivative can be contaminated with cancer causing PAH's (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons). Manufacturers use petrolatum because it is unbelievably cheap.

PAHs, or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, are common contaminants in petrolatum, also called petroleum jelly or Mineral Oil. Not only does Mineral Oil and Petrolatums clog pores and cause photo sensitivities, contaminants from petrolatum are being found in most breast cancer tissues which have been studied in recent times. As of September 2004, the EU has banned Petrolatum from cosmetic preparations completely.

Sensitizing fragrance: Fragrance on a label can indicate the presence of up to four thousand separate ingredients, many are known skin irritants and can be toxic. Symptoms reported to the USA FDA include headaches, dizziness, allergic rashes, skin discoloration, violent coughing and vomiting, and skin irritation. Clinical observation proves fragrances can affect the central nervous system, causing depression, hyperactivity, and irritability.

Chemical Dyes:
Also known as F D and C colors or Lake Dyes these are synthetic colours made from coal tar. There are two grades-Food grade and Cosmetic grade. Cosmetic grade contains heavy metal salts that deposit toxins onto the skin, causing skin sensitivity and irritation. Animal studies have shown almost all cosmetic grade dyes to be carcinogenic.

Bismuth Oxychloride:
A common cheap filler and listed on the Material Data Safety Sheet as a skin irritant this compound is rarely found in nature, it is a by product of copper and smelt refining. It gives the product a "slip" and sheers the product but has no benefits to the user's skin. It is responsible for the shiny effect you get when wearing mineral powders containing it and can accentuate fine lines and pores. It is reported as being responsible for itching, irritation and breakouts in sensitive skin

Talc: Talc is closely related to the potent carcinogen asbestos. Talc particles have been shown to cause tumors in the ovaries and lungs of cancer victims. For the last 30 years, scientists have closely scrutinized talc particles and found dangerous similarities to asbestos. Scientific studies have shown that routine application of talcum powder in the genital area is associated with a three-to-fourfold increase in the development of ovarian cancer.

Carmine: A common ingredient used in mineral makeup is carmine. Carmine is an extract from a Central American female beetle used commonly for its crimson red coloring. While there are no known toxicities related to carmine, the thought of it, once revealed is (simply put) quite unappealing.

Lanolin: This greasy yellow wax is derived from the sebaceous glands of sheep. Listed on the Material Data Safety Sheet as a skin irritant, it is the common cause of itching, breakouts, rash and contact dermatitis. In addition, any chemicals used on sheep will contaminate the lanolin obtained from the wool. The majority of lanolin used in cosmetics is highly contaminated with organo-phosphate pesticides and insecticides
